La scorsa notte l’associazione dei critici americani e canadesi ha premiato le migliori serie tv e i migliori interpreti alla 27esima edizione dei Critics’ Choice Awards. Per il cinema Il potere del cane di Netflix si aggiudica ben 4 premi, miglior film, miglior sceneggiatura non originale e migliore fotografia (Ari Wagner). A ritirare il premio al miglior film, sul palco c’erano la regista Jane Campion insieme agli attori Kirsten Dunst e Jesse Plemons e il produttore Roger Frappier.

Tra gli altri premi dei Critics Choice Awards 2022 per la recitazione Jessica Chastain ha vinto il premio come miglior attrice per Gli occhi di Tammy Faye, Will Smith quello per il miglior attore per Una famiglia vincente; King Richard, Troy Kutser come migliore attore non protagonista per I segni del cuore;  CODA e Ariana DeBose si è aggiudicata il premio come migliore attrice non protagonista per West Side Story.

Nulla da fare, come per i BAFTA 2022, per la pellicola italiana E’ stata la mano di Dio, è il giapponese Drive My Car ad aggiudicarsi il premio per il miglior film straniero.

Miniserie premiate

Tra le miniserie si sono affermate invece Omicidio a Easttown, altro titolo premiatissimo della stagione, e un po’ meno prevedibilmente The White Lotus, un’altra produzione di HBO. La produzione coreana di Netflix Squid Game è stata premiata come miglior serie straniera e per l’interpretazione di Lee Jung-jae, miglior attore in una serie drammatica contro colossi dello schermo che vanno dalla star di Succession Brian Cox al protagonista di This Is Us Sterling K.
